Sean Lynn Wilson

U.S. Veteran

Sean Lynn Wilson, 36, of Cape Coral, FL died on June 23, 2012 at Lee Memorial Hospital, Fort Myers, FL. He was born on June 14, 1976 in Leesburg, VA and has lived in Cape Coral since 2005 moving here from Hampton Roads, VA. Among his nicknames were Big Wil, Little Big Man, Papa Dawg, Boo Bear, Sean Gollum, Pookidoo, and Pestilence of The Four Horsemen.

He was a Naval Veteran who served in the Gulf War who received a letter of commendation and was a plank-owner of the John C Stennis nuclear supercarrier. He was the owner and instructor of Black Trunk Martial Arts, Cape Coral, an MMA facility primarily offering BJJ instruction from the best Master Black Belt instructor in SW FL. His style infused wrestling, life lessons and love. Among his accolades was being named Wrestler of the Century by The Orlando Sentinel. He was also a poet, musician, singer, and songwriter who played the guitar at various social events and at local bars. His music and poetry conveyed his passion, his philosophies, his troubles and his loves.

Sean is survived by his children, Avery Lynne Wilson and Vaughn Magnus Wilson, both of Cape Coral, FL, his mother, Shirley L. Perrotta of Sterling, VA, his sister, Jessica A. (Rob) Hansing of Sanford, FL, his grandmother, Margaret Ann Wilson of Chantilly, VA, his nieces Bailey and Morgan Hansing, his former wife and mother of his children, Stephanie Downs of Cape Coral and aunts and uncles. He was predeceased by his grandfather, Earl Lynn Wilson.

Memorial services were held privately by family, friends and students.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts for the children’s educational fund may be sent to the family c/o Horizon Funeral Home, 1605 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33907.
